Abstract

Islamic Teachings stress the need for proper treatment of people who suffer from different diseases. Much emphasis has been put on using any means to protect and save the lives of mentally and physically sick people. We must be concerned about the health of everyone around us. In fact knowledge of the true teachings of Islam is required and the will to follow these instructions is needed in order to cope with such a situation. Seeking a cure for diseases has been advised and patient demanded to counter such a situation. Despondency has been declared a great sin and moaning and complaining has been discouraged in Islam. What is required is to be thankful to God and show gratitude to Him, no matter how bad the circumstances are. The merciful creator sometimes offers his blessings in a usual or hidden way. It is left to us to choose a path to get there and a bid of effort is needed to collect it. Besides the teaching of Islam cover all sorts of medical and ethical aspects of the treatment available for the sick people. This paper is to improve knowledge and understanding of the readers regarding the medical and ethical aspects of treatment in the light of the Qur’anic verses, the sayings of the Holy Prophet (SAW) and the opinions of the different Muslims School of thoughts to promote healthy activities in the Muslim society.
