Analytical Study of the Research and Graduation of the Hadiths About Revelation Background in Tafsīr Books

Abstract

The reality of reasons and background of revelation in The Holy Quran can never be denied. So the study about the reasons of revelation (asbāb-e-nuzūl) is necessary in the light of former (Mutaqaddimīn) and modern (Mutākhirīn) scholars. Due to the importance of reasons of revelation (asbāb-e-nuzūl), abundant narrations about revelation are present in the books of Tafasīr. This abundance demands us to research and verify the valid narrations from the fabricated (Mouzū) and frailed (Zaīf) ones or those which are irrelevant to reasons of revelation (asbāb-e-nuzūl). Mufassirīn made these mistrusting narrations also a great part of Tafsīrī Literature, considering the reasons of revelation as the compulsory knowledge for Quranic Explanations. It is necessary to separate these mistrusting narrations from Tafsīrī literature by research and verification, so that authentic Tafsīrī literature can be surfaced. This article will boost up the epistemic way of research and developed the new aspects of research and verification in Tafsīrī literature.
