Imām Al-Shātibī’s Efforts in Applied Jurisprudence and the Trends Learned from Them in the Present Era

Abstract

This research aims to explore the efforts of Imam Ash-Shatibi in the field of applied jurisprudence and the contemporary implications derived from his work. Imam Ash-Shatibi is a prominent figure among scholars of Islamic jurisprudence (Usul al-Fiqh) with his unique contributions. Firstly, there is an overview of Imam Ash-Shatibi, followed by a definition of applied jurisprudence and its significance, along with an examination of Imam Ash-Shatibi's contributions in this field. Subsequently, four key sections serve as models for how such studies can be applied in the present era.

Following the presentation of these four sections, suggestions and recommendations are offered that play a significant role in reducing jurisprudential disputes and contribute to development of social jurisprudence while taking them into consideration.

Finally, a list of sources and references is provided. An effort was made to draw the text from the primary source, and if the source was unavailable, texts were sourced from reputable references.
