The style of Holy Qur’ān is the miraculous. In some places it is a tabshīr, in some places it is a tanzīr, somewhere it is enticing towards good deeds or it is made to hate evil deeds. In M’ārif al-Qur'ān, the causes of happiness and misery are described according to the style of the Qur’ān. Just as there are various reasons for achieving success, there are also many reasons for failure. An analysis of these motivations reveals that the pursuit of human welfare is the aim in all domains. Our ancestors followed this path because they were drawn to goodness, detested lies, feared Allah Almighty and worked hard to succeed and achieve their destination. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) is the only person to whom Muslims refer in all affairs after Allah Almighty. It is imperative that believers follow Sharia Muhammadiyah. Other than that, Allah Almighty does not approve of any other law. Any behavior that goes against the Shari'ah of Muhammad will not destroy the Hereafter rather, it will be a type of selfishness. In this article, the causes of happiness and misery will be studied in the light of M’ārif al-Qur'ān. M’ārif al-Qur'ān is a commentary by the famous and well-known scholar of the Deobandi School of thought, Mufti Muhammad Shafi (1891-1976). This commentary is of great importance in the Urdu Tafsīrī literature in Subcontinent.
