This research article throws light on the historical landscape of educational initiatives undertaken by Muslim rulers in the Indian subcontinent. The study conducts a comprehensive review of primary historical sources, manuscripts and secondary literature to trace the evolution and impact of educational policies implemented by Muslim rulers from different dynasties. Focusing on periods ranging from the early medieval era to the pre-modern times, the research examines the diverse approaches and contributions made by rulers in fostering education, particularly in the realms of Islamic studies, sciences and literature. The article employs a multidisciplinary approach, combining historical analysis with insights from educational philosophy, to provide a nuanced understanding of the socio-cultural contexts that influenced the educational landscape during different periods.
