Abstract

Nowadays, a group of people contributes money to a common pool on monthly, weekly or daily basis for the saving purpose. It is said "Committee" in a common term in our country. It has many shapes. Some of them partially and some completely has resemblance with reciprocal loan, while some other shapes are consisted on undoubted forbidden methods of earning money in Islam like interest and gambling. Therefore, there is an ample need to differentiate its shapes from one another to check their position under Sharia. We tried our best to discuss the fallowing points in this article: What is Current Committee System?  How many ways are in common practice to distribute the pooled money? What is the standard of its different shapes in the eye of Islam? After analyzing the arguments regarding Current Committee System and its different shapes, we found that some of its shapes are valid with some conditions and some other are totally invalid in the eye of Muhammadi sharia.
