This research review delves into the significance and methodology of self-purification within the Chishtiya Order, a prominent Sufi tradition in Islam. Central to Chishtiya teachings is the concept of "Tazkiyah," or self-purification, aimed at cleansing the soul and drawing closer to the Divine. Through an analysis of historical texts and contemporary perspectives, this review elucidates the theoretical framework and practical applications of Tazkiyah. Key elements of the methodology include Dhikr (Remembrance of God), Mujahada (Spiritual Struggle), Murāqabah (Spiritual Vigilance), and Suluk (Spiritual Journey). Despite facing challenges in modern times, such as cultural misconceptions and materialistic influences, the practice of self-purification remains relevant for fostering inner peace and moral integrity. Efforts to revive and adapt these practices to contemporary lifestyles are crucial for their continued efficacy and widespread adoption. Ultimately, self-purification in the Chishtiya tradition offers a pathway to spiritual growth and enlightenment, enabling individuals to realize their inherent potential and attain Divine proximity.
