A Research Analysis of Social Effects of Fasting
Abstract
Fasting has such an effect on our actions, morals and our soul that it is possible for us to develop piety in spite of Satan's temptations and self-indulgences. Therefore, during Ramadan, we should keep reviewing while fasting, whether we are actually benefiting from these effects of fasting or not. If fasting does not cultivate piety in us, it means that we have achieved nothing but a change in the times of eating and drinking. The social effects of fasting on our practical, moral and spiritual life play a vital role in shaping a virtuous and developed society. In this article, we will examine the social effects of fasting under the following two headings; 'The effects of fasting on one's personal life' and 'The effects of fasting on society'.
