Abstract

This research explores the concept of human weaknesses as described in the Quran, focusing on their identification, implications and remedies in the light of Islamic teachings. The Quran portrays human beings as inherently limited but endowed with great potential for spiritual and moral growth. Human weaknesses, such as haste, ingratitude, greed, forgetfulness and excessive desires, are presented not as insurmountable flaws but as challenges designed to test and refine one’s character. The study delves into the Quranic framework for understanding these weaknesses and the guidance provided to overcome them. It emphasizes the Quran’s holistic approach, which integrates spiritual, ethical and social principles to address individual and collective challenges. This includes the role of worship, adherence to divine commands, and the adoption of moral behavior in overcoming human frailties. The research also highlights the negative impacts of these weaknesses on personal life, society, and the economy, exploring how they manifest in modern contexts. Moreover, the research underscores the practical relevance of the Quran’s teachings in mitigating these weaknesses. It examines how principles such as self-discipline, gratitude, patience and reliance on Allah can transform personal lives and contribute to societal harmony. The importance of education, community engagement and the promotion of Quranic values through institutions like mosques and schools are also discussed as tools to create awareness and foster positive change. In conclusion, this research argues that human weaknesses are an integral part of the human experience, designed to facilitate spiritual growth and self-improvement. The Quran offers a comprehensive roadmap for addressing these weaknesses, encouraging individuals to rise above their limitations and lead fulfilling lives aligned with divine principles. By adhering to the teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah, both individuals and societies can overcome these weaknesses, achieving success in this world and salvation in the hereafter.
