Sermons of the Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon Him) on Manāqib and Jurisprudential Issues Derived from Them

Abstract

Allah Almighty placed all the attributes and perfections in His Messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him). He was responding to the call of his Lord in every way. Along with all these attributes and perfections, the Prophet (peace be upon him) was also an excellent preacher.

 He conveyed a large part of the commands of his Lord to the servants of his Lord only through his comprehensive sermons. Whenever a divine command came or any other important matter arose, the Prophet (peace be upon him) would address his companions and inform them of this important command and matter. This was an important responsibility of the Prophet as well as honesty and integrity. In the Holy Qur'an, he was also commanded to do the same.

And frighten those close to you. When this blessed verse was revealed, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) invited the people of his immediate family and preached to them. The sermons of the Prophet (sws) were not like the sermons of ordinary preachers, but his sermons are comprehensive and complete as well as permanent. That is to say, in addition to sermons and exhortations, his sermons also contain jurisprudential issues and injunctions which contain guidance for human beings till the Day of Judgment. Guidance and its commands are also present in your sermons.

 Some people have the impression that the sermons of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) were not preserved or properly recorded. This impression of these gentlemen is by no means correct. Because the sermons of the Holy Prophet were not only preserved but also edited by the scholars. Therefore, his sermons are also mentioned in other books of hadith besides Siah-e- Sitta. And in addition to these books of hadith, only separate books of sermons were also written.  In this article, we tried to derive as much jurisprudential orders as possible. These derivations provide perfect guidance on several problems of daily life in modern age.
